We are currently upgrading the MySQL version on MAG2 to the 5.1 release branch. The service will be unavailable intermittently while we carry out the necessary maintenance.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
UPDATE 2012/03/07 8PM CET:
The majority of accounts and websites are now restored and back online with the last few accounts being restored as of now. Since we are only able to restore the user files, emails and databases, cPanel settings such as subdomains, addon domains, FTP accounts, etc. needs to be manually recreated.
If you get an error while trying to create a subdomain, please try first deleting the corresponding A record (hostname) from the DNS zone using the Simple DNS Manager in cPanel. If you are still not able to get your subdomain or addon domain working, do not hesitate to contact us.
We thank you for your understanding and apologize for the inconvenience caused.
UPDATE
Unfortunately, the old disk is completely dead so we need to reinstall the OS and re-create every account on the server, then restore the data from our R1Soft backups. The process will take 4-5 hours.
--------------
The primary disk drive on the server has crashed and it needs to be replaced. Our system engineers are currently working on recovering the data from remote backups.
Dear Valued Customer,
Our Data Center will be performing some emergency router maintenance Friday (January 13th 2012) from 12AM EST to 4AM EST. You may notice some short outages during this timeframe as well as higher latency than normal to the Clifton NJ facility.
We thank you for your continued support.
The server MAG2 is currently rebooting due to an urgent maintenance procedure just carried out. It should be back up within 5 minutes.
Dear Customer,
We would like to forward the following information which has been announced by our data center provider:
As you may know, Hurricane Irene, the first Hurricane to threaten the North East in quite a few years, is currently projected to produce 100mph winds at our Clifton (NJ) facility at some point this weekend. Irene has the potential to be a serious and multi-hazard threat for the major metropolitan areas of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This hurricane has the potential to produce flooding rains, high winds, downed trees (on houses, cars, power lines) and widespread power outages.
We have taken all of the necessary precautions to prepare for this and any disaster. The generators have been tested and fuel levels have been verified. Backup fuel has been secured and moved to a safe site, close to our location, in the event of extended power interruption. Arrangements have been made to make sure extra staff are available on site and we have additional staff local to the facility on standby if needed. We have also verified all outdoor equipment is secure and the roof is free of any debris that could potentially get picked up by the wind.
Similar precautions have been taken in Miami (FL), Secaucus (NJ) and New York City (NY), the locations that are home to our VPS customers. We are confident in our preparations and our ability to provide you the outstanding service you have come to expect from us, even in the event of a major natural disaster.
