Apache and PHP updated

The Apache web server and PHP have been updated to versions 2.2.11 and 5.2.8, respectively, on our Magento hosting servers. The new versions include the latest security updates and bug fixes to ensure an optimal environment for your websites.

DDoS attack on mag1.properhost.net

To all customes on server 'mag1.properhost.net':

We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which cause problems with this server. Our administrators are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Server maintenance on 'mag1' (COMPLETED)

We are currently experiencing a disruption in service due to a maintenance procedure currently taking place on our 'mag1' server. Our server administrators are working on it, and the problems should be solved shortly.

UPDATE: The maintenance procedure has been completed, and the server is back to normal operation.

Scheduled Maintenance Saturday Night October 11th, 2008

Dear Valued Customer,

We have been notified by our Data Center of an upcoming scheduled maintenance which has the potential to affect our Magento hosting servers.

Below is the maintenance notice in its entirety:

"This email is to notify everyone of a network maintenance window from 12:00 to 4:00 AM EST Sunday, October 12th. The window is to upgrade one of our distribution switches. Although this maintenance is limited to one distribution switch, it has the potential to affect all customers so we are notifying everyone. We are allowing four hours for the maintenance, but the actual downtime should be much less if the upgrade goes smoothly. We are aiming for as little downtime as possible, however as the maintenance will include potential replacement of all blades on the switch we are stretching for a much larger window. Please be advised of this scheduled maintenance window and allow for adequate time to pass before opening up any support tickets during this maintenance window. We thank you in advance for your time and understanding in this matter."

We expect that the maintenance procedure will be carried out smoothly with minimum interruption in service.

New Client Area Launched!

We are pleased to announce the release of our brand new billing and support area - now available to all our clients! The Client Area allows you to view and update the details we hold about you, view details about the hosting packages and domains you have with us, submit support tickets and order additional products and services.

Below is a short description of each section inside the Client Area:

My Details
From this secton you may update personal information such as your email address, phone number or change your password. You also have the ability to add separate contacts for your domain, billing, etc.

My Hosting Packages
In this section you will find useful information about the web hosting packages you have with us; such as the next due date, current payment method, resource usage and more.

My Domains
This is where you manage your domain name(s). You can easily set the Registrar-Lock status, update nameservers, or renew your domains with a few simple steps.

My Invoices
In this section you will find an overview of outstanding invoices as well as a history of your paid invoices. You can easily pay a due invoice using your preferred payment method, or print a copy for your own records. You will be automatically notified by email when an invoice is due.

Support Tickets
From here you can open new tickets, post a reply, or easily check the status of your open tickets through the My Tickets menu. You will also be notified by email when a member of our staff has responded to your ticket.

Email Log
Here you will find a history of all the messages we have sent to you. It allows you to easily read any correspondance relating to your account in case you lose any of your emails.

Knowledgebase
The knowledgebase contains useful How-to's and answers to frequently asked questions, organized into different categories. The Knowledgebase can be a fast and convenient way to solve common problems. More articles will be added shortly.

Language Chooser
Using the dropdown menu in the lower right corner, you can change the default language of the page. There are currently 15 different languages available.

To log in to the Client Area, just open https://secure.properhost.net/members/ in your browser.

Note: the username/password is not the same as your web hosting control panel login.
