MAG4: Emergency Maintenance Window (completed)

UPDATE (2013-02-13 02.00 AM): The maintenance has been completed. The server is back online.

Dear customer,

As some of you may have noticed, the server MAG4 became unresponsive for about 1 hour this morning. After bringing the server back up, a disk check revealed several pending sectors on the primarily hard drive. As this is often the first indications of a failing hard drive, we want to take precautions by replacing the faulty hard drive with a new one. Inevitably, this means we will have to perform a data copy from the old disk to the new one. This process will take anywhere from 4-8 hours depending on the condition of the hard drive, during which all services will be inaccessible. It is important that this process commence as soon as possible to prevent further damage to the disk and possible data loss.

The emergency maintenance will begin today at 9PM EST (feb 13 2AM UTC).

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by this.

Thank you for your understanding.
